To have a vision, and then see it come to fruition, is probably one of the most satisfying things I could ever experience.

As I review all that team Soul Carrier has accomplished in the past few months, I well up with tears of pride and joy. I love my team so much!!! They seriously make my heart skip a beat every time I see them in action pouring their energy into making Soul Carrier a reality.

I am so grateful and humbled by what Sarah, the production guys in Leon (shout out to you Miguel 🙂 ), and every single one of my PHENOMENAL interns bring to the table on a daily basis. I only hope that in return I can be an inspiration, a light, and someone to encourage people to never give up on where they truly want to go.

I want to use this company as a platform, to be a voice, to ignite people to figure out what lights up their soul and then to follow through on that journey to authenticity — – even when the rest of the world is pressing for them to be something completely different from their soul’s truth.

Design, fashion, creativity, and artistic collaborations are what light up my soul and put me in alignment with who I was born to be, and I want nothing more than for others to discover what lights them up.

I have experienced the insane pressure to be more of this, less of that, to follow the path everyone else has taken because it is safe, stable, and “the right thing to do” – all while knowing that my soul was screaming to just be – to be me, and not what everyone else was demanding me to be.

The other day, I overheard a parent scolding their child for wanting to pursue a career in the arts. The parent was insisting their child pursue a traditional college degree, so that their child would be guaranteed a life of career stability.

Over-hearing this conversation further energized me to use Soul Carrier to motivate people to be who they are meant to be – not who their parents, professors, friends or society wants them to be.

I know what it is like to be on the receiving end of those soul-stifling comments. I have had people wanting me to get a 9-5 corporate job so that I could meet Mr. Right. I have had the parents who discouraged design school, because they wanted a daughter who graduated from law school. I have had the authority figures pushing for one path, when deep within my intuition I knew it was the wrong path for me.

We all come pre-wired with dreams, goals, hopes and desires, as well as an inner guide called intuition. Our intuition will never guide us wrong if we take the time to be authentic to our soul’s truth. When we ask ourselves where we want to go and what we want to do, our soul won’t deny us the genuine truth.

And yet, sadly, we live in a society that seems to know what is best for everyone else. This staunch-knowing what is best for others, comes at the expense of squashing another person’s truth, and blocking them from their ultimate destiny.

So often society spews the questions, “But how would you ever make any money doing that!? How are you going to support yourself with that kind of career?”

I am a firm believer that money, profits and materialism have to be the by-product of your greater purpose. When money or stability are your only incentives behind pursuing a particular career…well, the money & stability may certainly come, it may even come in droves, however lasting happiness, and a greater peace may no longer be your companions. And the satisfaction of money and materialism will absolutely fade if your soul is urging you to pursue your true dreams and goals, and you have denied and ignored them in exchange for money, stability or the stamp of approval from an outside source.

Where you want to go, what lights up your soul, & what you want to do with your life is for you and YOU ALONE to answer – it is a not a question that can be answered by your parents, partners, friends, professors, society or anyone other THAN YOURSELF.

Letting anyone other than YOU answer those questions is living a trapped-suffocated life. And you will never reach your full potential by living out someone else’s answer. You have to be free to answer that question and own that answer with all of your soul!

Marianne Williamson in The Law of Divine Compensation proclaims that “You give your greatest gifts when you are flying fully and freely. You are actually withholding from the universe when you don’t”. But you can’t fly if you are living a life that is based on someone else’s answer for you.

Team Soul Carrier, I am honored, humbled and eternally grateful for all you bring to my life. You have helped solidify my greater purpose and that is a gift I will forever cherish.

And with that, I dare you to genuinely and authentically answer “Where do you want to go?” “What do YOU want to do?” What lights up your soul and puts you in alignment with what you were born to do?

To living a life based on YOUR ANSWER not anyone else’s. To being authentic to your truth. To being genuine to what YOUR soul wants.
